In developed countries, men have limited participation in child care and domestic affairs; this situation places a great burden on women’s education and professional life. Girls’ education is a longstanding priority for the WBG, as evidenced by the Charlevoix Declaration on Quality Education for Girls, Adolescent Girls, and Women in Developing Countries, signed by the World Bank in 2018 with a commitment of contributing USD$2 billion in 5 years.
